| Funded on the desire to provide visitors from near and far with a general and more detailed understanding of Strausberg’s aviation history, the airport museum was established on the Strausberg landing field in 1999. The exhibits, created solely by the efforts of Strausberg residents Helmut Bukowski and Horst Kleest, range from 1913 to today. On one hundred square meters of exhibit area, visitors will find approximately 60 diagrams illustrating the historic relationships and processes related to the development of aviation technology. Numerous aircraft and flight models, aircraft components and aircraft equipment illustrate the variety of aviation at Strausberg and, beyond this, provide an insight into the spirit of the individual ages. Unique aerial photographs display the beauty of the city and its surrounding area. |
